When evaluating the submitted requests, the Grant Committee will score each request based on the five criteria below. These are in no particular order, as each criteria stands on its own.

Teacher Grants: Funding Criteria
- Educationally/curriculum based
- Individual, as well as collaborative, requests are encouraged.
- Consider the number of students impacted, in addition to how your request could be utilized for future years
- Funds are granted for a one year time period; no yearly subscriptions
- Funds will not be appropriated for the purchase of standard supplies or salaries
- Complete a brief follow-up form, consisting of three questions and submitting a photo.
- You may be asked to speak to the Grant Committee, to provide clarification or additional information, should they have questions
- Applications must be typed and professional
- Itemized budget required, to include shipping and all costs
- Incomplete applications may not be considered
- Funds must be used in their entirety during the school year they are awarded
- Funds will not be appropriated for purchases of standard supplies, salaries, or furniture.

- Educationally/curriculum based: funds not appropriated for standard supplies, salaries.
- Student Impact: ultimately benefit as many students as possible
- Need: well-identified need that is not met by existing programs
- Inventive: innovative, incorporating fresh ideas and approaches
- High quality/professional application

Luke Busch enjoyed learning. He was particularly interested in discovering how things worked, experiencing all facets of nature and the outdoors, and working on the family farm. After Luke's death in 1998, his parents and friends established two memorials in his name.
The purpose of the Luke Busch Memorial Science Grant is to support teacher projects that promote inquiry-based scientific learning by Mahomet-Seymour students. Grant Amount: This grant awards $250 to support a selected project or projects that address the purpose of the grant. Grant Selection: The Foundation will review all proposals and select the project(s) to be funded. |
